There are walks straight from the door across open countryside or pull on walking boots for a ramble through Balblair Forest (5 miles). Hike through the tall Scots pines to be rewarded with views of Carbisdale Castle and the Dornoch Firth. Several mountain bike trails lead through the forest suitable for all abilities. A nine-hole golf course can be found at Bonar Bridge or combine wildlife spotting with a round at the stunning Tain Golf Club (17.5 miles) where otters deer and herons may distract from play. Approached via a quiet country lane your rural retreat is a haven from the hustle and bustle of the modern world surrounded by sprawling countryside and open skies.
