Hawkshead is one of the region s most attractive villages with a choice of welcoming pubs and several interesting National Trust properties. Lake Windermere lies just a three mile drive to the east of the property along a country road which passes through the hamlet of Near Sawrey where visitors will find Hill Top the former home of Beatrix Potter. Less than five miles to the west of the property Coniston Water offers a range of water sports from it boating centre or perhaps enjoy a Swallows and Amazons boat trip out to Peel Island said to be the inspiration for Wild Cat Island in Arthur Ransome s celebrated novel. The heart of this lovely apartment accessed via the entrance hall is an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner and it is here that guests will spend most of their time when they aren t out exploring the local area. Outside the property benefits from an enclosed sunny patio accessed via the master bedroom which has a table and chairs ideally for relaxing with a drink at the end of a busy day.
